Research project

Research and development on the first integrated optical isolators and other hybrid integrated components manufactured by laser

Description

The aim of this project is to design and develop photonic components, such as a first hybrid integrated optical isolator, to meet the practical needs of the industry. These components will be manufactured in three dimensions using non-linear structural modification achieved through the focusing of ultrafast lasers. This project will be carried out in close collaboration with Aeponyx, a Montreal-based company specializing in integrated photonics.

Research Field

- Optics-photonics
- Laser-matter interaction
- Femtosecond laser
- Photonic materials
- Integrated photonics
