Research project

Study on the role of Rho GTPase signaling networks during skin development and tumorigenesis

Description

The Laurin lab studies the molecular mechanisms that govern embryonic skin development and their contribution, when deregulated, to the progression of skin cancers. The laboratory is particularly interested by Rho GTPases signaling networks that are emerging as key regulators of tissues morphogenesis and tumour invasion due to their ability to orchestrate cytoskeletal dynamics. Throughout his/her/their study, the applicant will evolve in an engaging, dynamic and collaborative research environment. The applicant will develop a strong expertise on skin development and its oncogenic transformation as well as a great understanding of Rho GTPases signaling networks. Additionally, he/she/they will acquire technical skills in molecular and cellular biology (cloning strategies, cell culture, confocal microscopy), biochemistry, proteomic and mouse models
